Eldar Jetbikes (and Fire Prism) Done!

Fayte here!

I took on a fairly crazy project (well, one with kids and a job) to paint two Farseers, nine jetbikes, and one Fire Prism (and touch up another one).

It was a pretty crazy project to say the least. I spent the better part of my free time over three weeks to get it all done, and I can say that I got 99% of it done! Go me!

More after the jump.

Over the course of a few months, I've been gathering jetbikes for my Eldar force. Now, this has been an interesting position for me to finally jump onto the jetbike train. So, come with me for a journey that is needing to be done quickly and well!

Commission: Logan Grimnar - WIP

Fayte here!

I am working on a commission job for my father, actually. He wanted a display model of his choice painted up to the best I have. Seems to be an every other year desire of his! But, he chose Logan Grimnar, and what a challenging model to paint! Wow!

Painting Space Marines - Astral Claws Chapter session 1

Hey Mates!

Got another series am adding to the blog. The Astral Claws! My first ever paint scheme now revisited.

"There are but two answers to the question of Humanity's survival in the face of a hostile cosmos; overwhelming force and the will to use it." Lufgt Huron, Chapter Master--

At a tournament just this passed weekend, I actually lost best overall player to someone that didn't paint his army. Me and this person where point for point in every area except paint, I ended up losing by paint score, myself painted army vs his commissioned army.

Knight Atrapos - Finished

Fayte here!

So I did it, I finished off the Knight and handed it over to my client! Out of my hands and done. Thankfully I learned some things from the model, but one of the biggest ones was that I can, in fact, speed paint something with pretty good quality. But, without further adieu...

WIP - Knight Atrapos Part 3

Fayte here!

Looks like things have come together nicely for the Knight. Speeding along, I fixed the green and gave a quick highlight color to blend it. It really saved my butt knowing I had a color in my drawer that would cover it! *whew*
When we last saw our hero...
Thankfully, I caught the bug to really dive into the model and get to work. I had a Friday off, so I saw it as a good opportunity to work hard on Thursday night and Friday to really make things shine. I pulled out my Vallejo Liquid Gold - Old Gold paint and went for the gold trim....and found it was dead. Yep, I tried painting with it, and it was thick and old.

Well, time to grab that new paint! In no time I had gotten that trim and moved onto some copper areas, pull out my Vallejo Liquid Gold - Copper aaaaaand! Dead.
It even oxidized!
Well, that's not good! In any case, some Tinny Tin saved my butt and I cruised along into the realm of decals and detail work. And in no time....
Oil wash: Unlocked

Chicken Walker!

Almost....there.....
Next post will be the finished product! Weathering powders and OSL effects still to come.
