Started working on some wolf puppies for the Space Wolves.
I will likely do 30 fenerisian wolves and 12 thunder wolves.
The force am putting together right now will have 24 Fenerisian Wolves. 8 Thunder wolves, 20 wulfen and 20 Grey hunters in pods.
Got a few lists will be doing so this really is just the tip of it all, as is custom in warhammer 40k.
Here are some comparisons,
So I started off pretty basic, with just using hand brushes and doing alot of dry brushes. I went this route to be able to show the difference to myself going by hand vs using the airbrush.
This is the same wolf with 10 to 15 mins of airbrush time on it. Pretty sure airbrush wins this rounds hands down. Will do the other detail work later today and then work on the others.
Am doing a mix of 8 fur types in my wolf pack. I hate seeing space wolves where every wolf is the same.. Been theory crafting the schemes and lurking on forums/youtube videos to make the search shorter.
Am very close to having all 8 of the scheme I want set in stone.
This grey wolf I pretty much used this scheme
Primer: Black
Base: Wolf Greay
Layor 1:Wolf Grey and Basalt Grey Blend
Layor 2 Basalt Grey,
Layor 3: Eshin Grey and Basalt Grey blend,
High Light 1: Eshin Grey
High Light 2: Eshin Grey and Black Blend.
Very easy grey blend only rinsed the air brush with distilled water twice for a clear color change.
Have a standard scheme for the other parts on the wolves, paw pads, gums, fangs etc... So makes the rest of the wolf very easy to do.
Now have some Thunder Wolves waiting for love. :)
